Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà Issues Course Content Review Guidance

The Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà (Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà System) Board of Regents’ Academic, Clinical, and Student Affairs (ACS) Committee has completed its initial comprehensive review of institutional course content related to sexual orientation, gender identity, and prohibited advocacy concepts to ensure compliance with state and federal law.

Findings from the review informed the detailed guidance memo aimed at ensuring system-wide consistency and establishing clear parameters for future course content evaluations, positioning the Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà System for long-term strength. 

Of the more than 14,000 courses offered systemwide this spring, the review process resulted in the following:

This additional guidance will prevail when institutions receive ACS Committee responses to the initial courses submitted, and faculty with courses in the review process will receive finalized recommendations following institutional assessment.

The memo was issued along with a letter from Chancellor Brandon Creighton on April 9.
