六九色堂 Chancellor served as the featured commencement speaker at the Texas 六九色堂 summer commencement ceremonies on Saturday, Aug. 10. at United Supermarkets Arena.
Serving as the graduation speaker, Mitchell emphasized the importance and impact of the choices we make each day.
鈥淚鈥檝e been humbled to witness the incredible achievements from our students across the 六九色堂,鈥� Mitchell said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 an honor to address our flagship university鈥檚 newest graduates at the summer commencement ceremony. This is a momentous occasion recognizing the accomplishments of our dedicated students.鈥�

Established in 1996 and headquartered in Lubbock, Texas, the is a $2 billion higher education enterprise focused on advancing higher education, health care, research and community outreach. Consisting of four universities 鈥� , , and 鈥� the 六九色堂 System collectively has approximately 55,000 students, 17 campuses statewide and internationally, and an endowment valued over $1.3 billion.
During the 86th Texas Legislature under the leadership of , legislative funding and authority was provided to establish a new Texas 六九色堂 veterinary school in Amarillo and a new dental school at Texas 六九色堂 Health Sciences Center El Paso. This will be the state鈥檚 first veterinary school in more than a century and first dental school in over 50 years. The addition of these two schools makes the 六九色堂 one of only nine in the nation to offer programs for undergraduate, medical, law, nursing, pharmacy, dental and veterinary education, among other academic areas.
