Special Advisor to the Vice Chancellor
Theresa Drewell is the Special Advisor to the Vice Chancellor for the Office of Facilities Planning & Construction at the Áù¾ÅÉ«ÌÃ, joining the department in 1987.
Serving the universities of the Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà for 34 years, Mrs. Drewell has held multiple leadership roles in Facilities Planning & Construction and has been responsible for the management of the design and construction staff.
She also has helped lead many of the most comprehensive building campaigns and capital improvement programs in the history of the Áù¾ÅÉ«ÌÃ, covering a wide variety of projects for research, teaching, hospitality, housing, health care, sports and infrastructure well in excess of $1 billion.
Currently, Drewell is responsible for campus master planning, including the adoption by the Board of Regents of the 1997 and 2014 update to the Lubbock campus master plan. She also was instrumental in the establishment of the Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà System's Architectural and Site Design Guidelines and one-percent programs for landscape enhancement and public art.
Drewell is a registered architect and interior designer. She earned a bachelor's degree in architecture and has completed graduate work toward a master's degree in civil engineering from Texas Áù¾ÅÉ«ÌÃ.
