Our lab is focused on age-related neurodegenerative diseases including age-related macular degeneration and Alzheimer's disease with the goal of elucidating the role of APOE in the development of these conditions. APOE has been identified as a major risk factor in both conditions however how APOE drives pathology is not fully understood.

We also are interested in the developing mRNA-based or targeting therapeutics for these neurodegenerative conditions. Furthermore, we are interested in understanding mechanisms of angiofibrosis in ocular conditions including proliferative diabetic retinopathy and neovascular age-related macular degeneration.
