Dr Geoff Cunningham

School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

Geoff Cunningham is a Senior Lecturer (Education) in the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Queen’s University Belfast. His research focuses on engineering education, particularly the design of authentic, hands-on learning experiences that prepare students for professional practice. He investigates design–build–test projects, collaborative problem-solving, and learning environments that foster engagement and growth. Through initiatives such as Formula Student, his work connects curriculum design with industry-relevant experiences, enhancing technical competence, teamwork, and leadership development.
