Dr Christian Obieke

School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

Dr Obieke’s research investigates how design engineers can collaborate with AI to enhance engineering design practices. His work focuses on leveraging the productivity gains of AI by integrating cutting-edge technologies across early and later stages of the design process - including concept generation, manufacturing, and sustainability considerations.

His research also explores computational creativity and human-centred computing. As a co-investigator on an EPSRC-funded project, he is advancing design innovation through the exploration of multi-agent LLM-based AI approaches for autonomous engineering design activities.
