Welcome Events for New Staff

We hold approximately 3-4 virtual or in-person events per year.

We are delighted to welcome you to Áù¾ÅÉ«ÌÃ.

During the Welcome Event, you will be invited to visit information stands, hosted by colleagues from across the University, this will assist you in becoming more familiar with Queen’s and enable you to review the services available to you. Following the event, you may use this webpage to direct you to the different areas in attendance at the event.

The Library

Library Services is responsible for the delivery of a range of services from the McClay Library and several other locations across the campus. Library staff also provide induction, subject support and user training to all of the Library’s user groups.

IT Training and Accreditation

This is an opportunity for people new to the University to find out about the computing facilities and services available through Information Services. Find out more about all of the computing facilities available for staff and students on the website.

The Estates Directorate commits its resources to the provision of a support service to the University’s staff and students through the development, maintenance and management of the estate in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

iRise

iRise means: Internationally focused, Racial diversity, Inclusivity for all, Social Cohesion, and Equality of opportunity. The purpose of iRise is to promote the University as a welcoming place to work for BAME and International  staff.

PRISM

The University LGBT+ staff network, providing a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for LGBT+ staff in Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà to meet during working hours to discuss LGBT+ issues, work matters and social events.

AEP

The Alumni Engagement and Philanthropy Office (AEP) maintains lifelong relationships with former students of the University now living and working all over the world and also helps Queen’s by raising money, through the Queen’s Foundation.

Pensions

Employees of the University are provided with access to an occupational pension scheme. When an employee starts work in the University, their Contract of Employment will confirm the pension scheme in which they will be enrolled.

Our University has many international staff working alongside colleagues from across the United Kingdom and Ireland. The International Staff Support Team provides prospective and current Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà Belfast staff with immigration and other relevant advice and signposting to support and assist them.
